I gues I am a lucky guy.
My girlfriend likes jazz singing and she's good at it, and nowadays she even starts to appreciate cante!!!

What mic did you use to record? It sounds very open.

I've put the song in my Flamencomantica folder in iTunes for those moments

Through this thread you all have shown more generosity I could ever expect, and certainly I cannot imagine my music would deserve.

However, God bless you Koss for with those words you wrote you granted my wish (as I wrote to Florian). I have no ambition of stages nor of standing ovations, yet simply that someone, somewhere, would listen to my music while having a glass of wine, at the end of the day. I have no words to express my gratitude, but I hope “thank you” still holds its meaning.

I immediatly felt relaxed with and that's my criteria for liking music.
I saw that you had the ambition to record a CD, did you manage to do that, if so, let me know and I'll order one!

Now you have been way too nice, Koss.

However, I missed my chance to record during the Christmas break. I am waiting for the right time (i start my course at NYU this thursday, for 8 weeks). I really should adjourn the excitment and concentration recording will require to May... maybe.

On that subject I am still hesitant about recording at home (as i did with that exercise, but perhaps with higher standards) or lock myself away into a recording studio. This option scares me a bit, i must confess (funny, i have butterflies in my stomach just as i write the words).

I like the idea of keeping it simple, "home-recording" sounds quite comforting and more consistent with the part-time nature of my engagement. What do you think?
Once you are in a studio, digital editing and sound manipulation takes over, and you may end up with a perfect... "stranger" on the tracks, after all make-up is apllied.

maybe you can do a "rough draft" at home. from there, you might have a better idea of where you want to take it and either make a more polished home recording, or if you feel you'd like pro help, go with that.

that's just what i'd do. plus the rough drafting sessions might inspire new ideas (about playing, how you want it to sound, etc) you can implement before doing the final recording.

i think you have awesome tone and play very well. we need to hear more of your stuff!

The idea of a draft-recording is wise. I should follow that strategy. However, i am not sure i have the time to do both, if even either.

Maybe a first draft in a rcording studio, that would be really nice.

On that note, does anyone know of any recording studio in NYC or SF worth recommanding?

I agree that recording in a studio can get the worse out of you. Time pressure, a strange enviroment etc.

If you have a good mic and/or pre-amp, I would go for the home-recording, and spent the money, left over, on good food and some bottles of wine.

Go for a nice enviroment where you feel comfortable instead of a 5x5 square box where somebody is watching you through a glass window.
Being at ease just will make the music sound better, more Aire I believe its called

That was a nice gesture, Andresito, thank you so much. It is so nice in fact that it is almost mean…. I now have no excuse left but to seriously record my little things.
