I've heard that the Yamaha is hard to find in Australia.

Aren't some other Spanish-made beginners' flamenco guitars available in Oz?

I called Yamaha Aus about a few months back, and they told me that the last one sold was sold in june 07.

Asked stores to call Yamaha and was told that they can get the CG171S but not the SF =(

Karen on Ebay there is a guy called musicman or musicvan from the US selling a CG171SF for 300US. search under CG171SF and it should come up.

Any good recommendations Florian? it's also hard for us beginners to play on a Flamenco guitar and tell whether it has a good flamenco sound or not.

cheers

well for the money Esteve wasent too bad..

really its hard to say without hearing it..u might find a litlle treasure..go around all guitar shops ask what they have for flamenco and try them and pick the one that sounds and feels the best to you..

if this is your beginner guitar dont spend more than 500 - 700...and if u not playing in front of people i wouldnt even spend that much (second hand shops)...save the money for when u are going to want another one....700 bucs its a good way there

and you Will eventualy want another

good luck

Hard to find in Oz? Well that stinks Karen, sorry. I'd gladly sell you mine if I had another guitar to take it's place.

Hi Karen, Admira also do a beginner's flamenco (factory made in Spain) that is quite nice to play but I haven't heard it alongside the Yamaha. I actually have one that I wouldn't mind selling for half-new price. PM me if you're interested.

Maybe someone should set-up a business of buying Yamahas cheap at Guitar Center and selling them to folks in Australia.

I don't know about that musicvan seller on eBay. I'm worried that he's a fly-by-night seller. He was selling some grade B steel string guitars once. I was wondering how he got them. Kraft Music is the more reliable seller (and authorized Yamaha dealer) but I don't know if they ship overseas.
