Oh yes, you heard that right. The price includes shipping within the continental US. I'll ship overseas but only if the buyer is willing to pay the duties/taxes/whatever else it costs to import into their country, and I'll tell you right now it'll probably cost more than the guitar itself.

RE: Used Yamaha CG171SF for $250?! (in reply to kovachian)
LOL!
I've got an old beat up and much travelled Jose Ramirez 1975 "student" model that I never play now, but I just can't be bothered with all the hassle of taking pictures and ebay and shipping and customs (and FedEx!) etc....
So it just sits in a case and I don't know what to do about it.
I'm sure it can't be Ramirez, but I bought it in the shop in Madrid and the detail certainly looks like the Ramirez 1A I used to own AND it cost me over £150 back then in Spain, before bringing it back. (The same price as the 1A cost me 4 years earlier!)
Who knows?
(The "Conde" story etc etc )
I think they call it the "FL2" now.
Here's a pic of me enjoying the newly bought guitar in Malaga, before the guitar and the owner eventually became beat up.
cheers,
Ron

It was in fact your guitar before mine. And yes I've outgrown it already,
We could make this yamaha the "Foro Yamaha" and pass it to all new members one after other to learn flamenco guitar at an affordable price ...... with waiting list of course

LoL that's a brilliant idea! If we get this guitar to travel the world and collect signatures, it could become priceless and end up in a Hard Rock cafe somewhere.

Maybe Tom Nunez could volunteer to do a master setup. Then he slaps his label over the Yamaha's to rebadge the guitar as the official foro freshman instrument. From there it goes on tour and everybody signs the back. We then track the guitar on Google maps. Every recipient will be obliged to perform one piece on YouTube with the guitar and also upload their photo with the guitar.

What I resent that! I already did a Master Setup by Me on that guitar. Has the nice Bone Saddle, and I even sanded the inside of the top, and the fan braces. I thought it sounded great when I sent it to Kovachian. In fact I'd almost buy it back, except the wife would kill me. It's definetly the best Yamaha you will find anywhere. :) Well worth the $250.

Sale pending.....
This guy says he's going to have his 88 year old mother doing baile and cante and PdL licks before her 90th birthday! Isn't that beautiful? Why can't I have parents this cool?
I just now realized that this thread is in the wrong section. Oops.

It's headed off to Nowhereville, Iowa (no, that's not the town's real name lol). I know the buyer browses this foro since he saw my ad, but I don't know if he's a member here.

This is funny! As of Wednesday June 9, 2010, I now own this guitar. I live in Indianola, Iowa and I met the owner at his 88 year old mother's house to purchase the guitar. To honor his privacy, I won't mention his name but he is a great guy who was more interested in me learning Flamenco than his own playing while he visits his mother. (He does not live in the U.S. and visits for a few weeks at a time.) I will eventually graduate to a better instrument, but I can't tell you how excited I am to begin to learn the techniques. I have immersed myself in listening to Flamenco for almost 2 years now. I have played guitar for 35 years but Flamenco techniques are unlike anything I have ever played, and I wanted to see if my hands have the dexterity required for Flamenco before I plopped down a lot of money for a guitar that has THAT sound. In the meantime, this guitar plays very nicely and sounds quite good for the money. ¡Ahora, necesito encontrar un maestro que vive en Iowa!

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here, but I thought an update was appropriate 10 years to the date later. I still have this guitar, and yesterday I took my first actual Flamenco lesson. I'm learning from Ricardo Marlow via Skype, and it feels really great to have some direction after 10 years of floundering on my own.
