Rat race

So I'm back home...

Our twelve day tour of Andalucia was great!

Starting from Jerez (and Sanlúcar), continuing on through Ronda, Granada, Cordóba and Sevilla we ended our stay relaxing at Mazagón (near Huelva).
The closest we got to Kate was seeing posters promoting Emilio Mayas classes in the Albaícin…
I’m the only flamenco enthusiast (or rather the only one interested in flamenco), so I was all the more surprised, when we went to a tablao performance in Cordóba (really very good, way above the usual tourist level) to hear frenetic German jaleos from my friend!
By chance we happened upon the once in 50 years Cordóba procession, where the Virgen de las Angustias is carried from the Mezquita to “her” original barrio. Unfortunately we were at the Mezquita end, so we didn’t get to hear the saetas (I hadn’t known about the existence of saeta-schools ‘till then).
Of course one of the real highlights was visiting Anders in Beas:
I can hardly wait for my “custom built” blanca peghead!

Only setback was the credit card bill I just received: the car rental firm has charged me for repairs, although we didn’t have any damage ( I hear that’s almost common practice nowadays… ...)

Oh my god! Ed, I too have just returned from Andalucia (the same day as you) and we got charged by our car hire company too!!
There were 2 tiny marks on the back bumper. we didn't have an accident and the only way it could of happened was if someone hit us while we were parked! or it was there before, but being new arrivals in spain we were to excited about our holiday to notice! anyways it cost us 150Euros,

Hi Stu,

well, you for one . Seriously, there was a report on the telly here I was told about, and I found at least two posts on various (German) forums ..

We too are going to try and reclaim our money (my brother-in-law's a lawyer, maybe that'll help)

I read about your cracked guitar . Hopefully Anders advice will help!

That's awful. I thought they could only charge you at the time ie when you return the car. You should get a receipt saying the car was returned in its original state. If they did not charge you at the time then they dont have any right to do so. Otherwise there is no control and its so open to abuse. Good luck with getting a refund. Be sure to check out where your credit card stands on this issue.

Glad you had a good time in Andalucia. Sorry we did not bump into each other in Granada.

Kate
