salmonete cantaor

i met the brother of this singer in jerez, the brother sings alot in the street for money and IMHO has a really great voice, i was at a bar dom juana and he started hammering out Solea por buleria on the table and then let rip, really strong rajo and deep sound. couple of guys in the bar started laughing and i told em to shut up, because he was singing his heart out.

Hola Henry

At one time Salmonete was one of the most promising singers from Jerez. He had a problem: he is not gitano and found many doors closed to him in his native town. He also developed a serious addiction habit which effectively lost him a lot of work.

really, all i could find out is that he has had an on off career for most of his life;
never mentioned anything about addictions, sean would you happen to know the full name of salmonete's brother or could Norman chime in on this?

i rember david serva mentioning his name and saying that out of all the guys who plied their trade in the streets from tourists only salmonetes brother was any good or had a good voice.
