Granada Flamenco Course Feb - April 2008

Think it's amazing that courses like that are offered for free to semi-pro and pro artists. Wish I were good enough to justify booking on one!

The courses seems to be more like a kind of charlas or talks about different aspects of flamenco. Also its for semi or full pros only, so I see it mostly as a kind of social club event. If you know what I mean.

I wonder if this is quite common in Spain. I'm a member of a Pena in Alhaurin el Grande and there are weekly group guitar lessons free for members. I've only plucked up the courage to go along to it once, but the teacher's terrific (Gabriel Cabrera). We used him last year on one of the dance holidays (we also cater for guitarists) I help a friend to organise and the guy that had lessons with him was full of praise. By the way, I finally updated the website and have put up lots of photos in a more accessible album if anyone fancies taking a look.
