chord forms sabicas question

I endeavor to practice the sabicas stuff, mostly the Faucher transcribed stuff, most of it is pretty straightforward with some minor quicrks, like Bronce Gitano etc. Some stuff however, like in Aires de puerto real, in Rey de Flamenco, I find some of the chord forms and changes really hard to do at any speed. In the beginning ras, the chord changes from
7 8
9 7
9 to 8 pretty quickly and I find that transition impossible at speed. Likewise there is an arpeggio that resembles the one in Capricho and if that isnt bad enough it goes to ornamentations like in Capricho. Ok, I understand it is different than my pedestrian major minor chord playing, but the question begs, is Faucher really hearing this right when he transcribes it? I'm sure he is very accuracte, but he might hear one note different than another particularly at the speed in which Sabicas is playing this stuff. Likewise, I'm sure Sabicas, like Hendrix and a lot of blues artists never played the same thing twice the exact same. Are these voicings typical in flamenco and sabicas style? And could these interpretations be off particularly considering the speed ? Its either that some of this stuff is off or I need to knuckle down and try harder. (gee I wonder which one will apply) on to you.

Faucher is very, very good but like anyone transcribing he is not infallible.

I'm not familiar with the piece - if you upload a short mp3 of the section you are talking about, plus give the FULL chords that appear in the transcription (you give some numbers but no strings) then you'd probably get a wider response here.

With chords, I mean this would be A major, for example:

0
2
2
2
0
X

You can upload tabs in the tab forum and audio in the audio forum. When you open a window to write a message, theres a link which says "click here to upload" at the bottom of the window. You then navigate to you file and upload it, it gets added as an attachment to your message.

Bear in mind the copyright rules - thats why I suggested uploading a short mp3 clip of the passage you are trying to learn, and why it might be easier simply to write out the chords as I did above.

ok thanks Jon that does help. It would be good to be able to upload a file in the members section, but so be it. I had not thought of the copyright thing so thanks for advising me. Without the benefit of the scan then the chord I have the main problem with is;

00
0
8
7
8
0

the capricho type chord I mentiond is

5
6
5
3
0
0

and it goes to ornamention on the highe e 5
low e 3
e,b 56
so far so good, and then
g open
d string 4

the 878 thing seems particular to flamenco as I have seen it in other pieces but it is such a @@#$$ to change to
the capricho chord is ok once learned for capricho it is the ornamentaion that throws me at speed. maybe it is a simple matter to get used to it, but these untypical chord forms makes me wonder if they were originally meant to be played like that. Sorry I dont have a mp3 and not sure how to do that.

I'm not familiar with this and I can't quite follow your description of the ornamentation, but to change from the first chord to the second in your two chords above I would land fingers one and three first, at the same time, and then move two and four. Obviously we are only talking about a fractional gap, but it feels better to me than trying to land all four fingers in that configuration at once. Without hearing the music though, its difficult to say too much.

That Faucher Sabicas book is on my wishlist.
