RE: What ever happened to Mayte (in reply to Guest

Mayte is still on the scene and Gigging. There was a concert during the bienal de flamenco in malaga. I have heard many people say that Mayte is a better studio artist than a live performer. i guess i would tend to agree. We can look forward to the new album

RE: What ever happened to Mayte (in reply to Pimientito

The first time I saw Mayte perform the audience was teasing her. She was dressed in a suit and they called out "Olé guapo" as if she were a man. She handled the macho Andalucian audience very professionally. They loved her.

Just recently she was with my friend Ana Calí having tapas on San Miguel Bajo. I went over to talk to them thinking she looked familiar. I assumed she was a local, a neighbour, until afterwards when the waiter said "Wow you just spoke to Mayte Martin".

A few years ago I saw a man that looked familiar. I was running training courses at the time, and I thought he'd been on one of my courses. Being a friendly sort, I went up and asked how he was, and then said, what are you doing now? And he answered "I'm still in Eastenders" (UK soap opera). Felt so stupid - I didn't know him at all, I'd just seen him on TV. Still I guess he must get that all the time. To give him credit he was very civil.

Ha ha ha who was he ? I still watch eastenders on BBC Prime, its terrible but addictive !

I once met Ian Gibson ( writer on Lorca and Spain) in Granada and said 'hello Ian' without thinking, having seen him so much on TV and read all is books. He replied 'Hello' with a puzzled look and then I realised and had to say " Oh sorry you dont actually know me but I've read all your books". He was very friendly and we met a few times after that, mostly in the Irish bar !!

It was Ross Kemp who played Grant Mitchell.
