actually said "I've, like, been to Spain and, like, America is the best country in the world". THAT is stupid. Well, at least the toilets were always OK. Maybe Ailsa can psychoanalyze this... When I was on the "Costa del Sol Expreso" from Madrid to Cordoba in my late teens, there were no seats on the train, so I had to kip down in the horizontal body-filled corridor for 12 hours outside the toilet using my suitcase as a pillow, with folk stepping over me to get in. During the night I felt the need myself and stepping into the smelly cubicle, I was confronted with a bog pan with no seat, absolutely filled to the brim with what I shall simply call a thick brown mixture of solid and liquid effluent which was slopping back and forth in sympathy with the movement of the train. Since then, every time I have a nightmare it has always included overflowing bogs. Is this "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder"? I didn't have a particularly gentile or sheltered upbringing myself, being brought up in the East-end of Glasgow and since then have witnessed pretty rough stuff travelling through some African and South American countries. Why does this sh*t stick?? cheers, Ron

ORIGINAL: Shroomy726 I hope none of the American fellow member take this the bad way, but I estimate that 50% of Americans are dumb. Obviously that doesn't include the wonderful and super-smart American friends I've made here (ie don't kick me out of the forum ) I base this on a similar experience to this thread. I moved to the States when I was 15 coming from a third world country. I was SURPRISED to witness people's stupidity all through high school. High School was so hard in Argentina; they even said that college was easier. And then I go to high school in the US where I literally slept through classes and got straight As... Even college in the US I consider fairly "easy", while other fellow students consider it hard. I tell people that I am from Argentina and 90% of them have no idea where it is. Most of them think it's in Europe or Asia... Plus, one big factor in my theory is that GEORGE BUSH WON THE ELECTIONS. That right there is proof enough for me, lol. Again, no offense to anyone here because I know that everyone I talk to in the foro is fairly intelligent. I mean, if you got into flamenco you can't be dumb. That's for sure. Dude, that is so weak. No offense, but half of you are Dumb? What are you doing in the US if you think half of us are so dumb? If you really think you are so much smarter maybe you should go home and fix your country instead of coming here and putting Americans down. And since you consider yourself so smart and interest in flamenco a sign of brains(that is funny), you must play the hell out of the guitar! Who do you think created the opportunities you are taking advantage of right now? Dumb people? 50% of Amercians are dumb by your calculation? You must have amazing mathematical abilities. Frankly, your statement makes me question your IQ, in spite of your grades. You might want to look up the meaning of the word "tact". You need some. I know that our current administration has created a lot of animosity in the world, but we are a large country with many opinions, many faults, and many accomplishments. Look at our history with open eyes when judging us, and if you still find us wanting, then before throwing insults, consider the state of your country. And while your here, you might want to try to contribute something other than smugness. No, I was not offended......................................much.
