would you consider them suitable teachers? i have discussed it briefly with mehran, he is a very interesting guy. I see him on fridays at a local tapas place, he accompanies very well... in my opinion, but i have not seen too many solo performances. so ricardo rain cloud, (with the utmost respect) i seek your opinion.

Rain cloud advice.

All teachers are "suitable". It is up to the student to use the info you recieve to your own benefit, and discard stuff which won't help you. So, not knowing what your level is, and not having knowlege of those guys way to teach I would say....no?

Just kidding. All you can do is try it out see if you learn something. Pansequito is supposed to be the real deal hardcore from Spain, did not know he was teaching, but what kind of teacher is he? I don't really know. So if you can afford the opportunity, I would not pass it up just to be safe. No lesson is a waste IMO.

Good luck man.

Ricardo

Yeah I agree. When I was looking for a teacher I had a lesson with quite a few teachers in the London area. They all have different skills and different bits of knowledge, and all explain things in a different way. I don't think I came out of any of them having learnt absolutely nothing.

But then I chose the person who I felt taught in a way I could understand and learn from. And also laugh with a bit - I think laughter helps learning. Actually I think it helps living

PS I'd go for Diego - he looks cute. Oh that isn't one of the qualities you are looking for?

Actually Ailsa, I prefer to be the most attractive guitarist in the room, which is why diego is just simply out of the question. I mean come on, if I'm accompanying dancers, why would I want someone of possible (but highly improbable) equal attractiveness to potentially distract the dancers from me? lol Marketing!!!! the prettiest flower always gets picked!!!!!!!

Ricardo, I study classical at university. I also study piano. I realize this is in no way an indicator of my ability, but I have a point...eventually. Since I already have two teachers, I was merely hoping to minimize my time and money expenditures by seeking your advice =). that said, I think any one of them would do nicely, and Mehran probably would be the easiest to relate to (I'm taller, younger... jk lol)

As a side note, We need to include Sagacious in your name somehow. Ricardo rain cloud the sagacious. However, you will need a long whispy beard, and flowy clothing.

Yeah I get your point, and you know it works for dancers who are pursuing a guitarist too - there's such a lot of competition and there's always someone young and prettier. I just have to try to dazzle them with my sparkling wit and intellect.

Do you mean two flamenco guitar teachers? If yes, tell me how that works HemeolaMan, because it's something I've considered doing myself - I have a problem with fidelity (jk - honest it's a joke!) Like, does one do theory and the other practical? Or maybe one does seguiriyas and other does alegrias? My concern is that I'll get conflicting info, but for practical reasons it's something I may have to do. Lemme know how it is for you.

I got more than you then

So you sort of teach yourself flamenco? Well they say all the great players are self-taught to some extent. Me, I need a teacher.

well veet, i'm very glad that you roomed together. It's kinda funny how everyone here knows everyone else lol.

Ailsa... i teach myself, I mean, I am only 19, but i have been playing for about 10-11 years. I was originally attracted to flamenco because of the technique, and I got bored of malmsteen stuff lol. Now i know that it is much more, in fact I would consider it an honorable discipline. I am looking for a tutor, but I consider all of you my teachers. There is far more information here than any one teacher could know (except for maybe ricardo lol).

Not only that, but i cook, clean, sew, do laundry, build stuff, fix things, levitate occasionally, and come with extra batteries lol. for the low low price of 39.95!
