e or n

Why do different tabs/scores/tuition books use n instead of e (for little finger)?

Actually, it doesn't matter. i=indice, m=medio, a=anular, Meñique=???????

You can't use "m" again. n=niño? ch or c=Chiquito, that is good, e=extender finger in english. I have seen "o" I think, also "s". You can use whatever you want, does not matter. But not "p" for pinky because "p" is pulgar. Can't use lower case or caps because that is often used for "APOYANDO" or "tirando".

So just use your old noggin to figure out whatever person X used to describe the baby finger. How about "b"??

I've heard that e = enano (dwarf), although that might be a case of fanciful association. The use of e could also be related to "meñique," as e is the next letter after m, or it might have originated in some other language. Definitely a question for classical-guitar experts.
