Hello,

I was just pointed in this direction. I was looking at the Guitarra Flamenca series by Manolo Franco and Manuel Salado. I have been to ES Flamenco and check them out, but it's really difficult to see didactic material via the web. I am under the impression there is not a written score for the material in the book, only on the screen and that there is not a written score for the "accompaniment compas" Is this true? I did look at the videos and the closeups look good and I listened to the sound samples, and liked what I heard. I guess the biggest concern is whether there is a writtenscore of all the material or not. Is the score shown on the video?

Anyway, any type of feedback would be great.

I have bulerias, solea por bulerias and alegrias videos. They are great but I have not spent enough time with them yet. I use sound editors to record loopable wavs of the falsettas.(So I can play along with the groove of the falsetta) I also use a screen grab utility(vista has one built in too) to grab the scores for the falsetta I am working. I also edit the DVD to short falsetta videos so I can drag the playback easily to a specific section. I am new so I need these tools. Another cool thing about these sets is that they come with audio CDs that you can listen to in the car etc. Included are not only the performances from the DVD but basic compas sections at different speeds and with different percussion that I listen to to get the basic feel for counting etc. Kind of like the CD Florian is making I think.
