Probably depends on the overall program. If I did a concert entirely of Nuñez pieces, and they paid me $1000 for the performance, I don't think that would be fair to the composer, regardless if I gave credit or not. That is just my personal view. Technically, the VENUE that you perform in is obligated and responsible to pay a blanket fee for performing copyright works. The performance rights fee gets rolled in as actually royalties for whatever artists are on the list. (BMI ASCAP SESAC, ETC). Technically, any music not on the list is not allowed to be performed. If they don't pay this blanket fee, then the performer is always asked to sign a waiver saying "all the work is mine or the performer has permission etc". But it is a grey area for flamenco pieces. Traditional pieces I dont' think it is a big deal, so long as the composer gets credit. Keep in mind, PDL is publsihing his old stuff, so now the venue needs to make sure any old Paco material has been liscenced out. (Fabulosa-Fuente at this point). Ricardo
