Paco de Lucia's tour
Hi, I recently visited Paco's website to look for updates, and I came across an article that appears to speak in more detail about Paco's upcoming tour. What alarmed me was the mention of Chick Corea's name. As the article is in spanish, I cannot determine if Paco will be playing with Chick or otherwise... I was hoping maybe someone who is interested and who does read spanish could pop over there and have a look. The article is under the link "NEWS" or "ACTUALIDAD" and then with the title "EL SEMANAL". For me, this is very worrisome, as initially it was thought that the tour would present Paco de Lucia's brilliance stripped down, not accompanied by his sextet or any such non-orthodox flamenco instruments. Of course, Paco is cool in any form, but Chick Corea?! Aaayyy... Aaayyy... Aaayyy cheers, - Con

Amen, Simon! Can't stand that bull@#$%! Yeah, actually, in the new Paco DVD, there is a clip of him with Chick Corea. Anyway, can anyone confirm that Chick will be accompanying Paco on the tour? I was planning on going to a show or two just to see Paco cause it might be his last waltz, and who knows what his new material will be like. Could be good, eh? You never know. But if Chick is with him, I will give it second thoughts. Chick is a stellar player, but piano in flamenco just overwhelms the guitar and deflates the flamenco's essence, ya dig? Throw me your opinions on this one. Anyone else? regards, - conrad

Hi, There is a flamenco site here in Canada that is reporting a new lineup (and without Chick Corea). Check it out. The webmaster from www.flamenco.ca had e-mailed me with rumours that Tomatito would be joining Paco, but the site now reads that Paco is playing with a selection of musicians of whom I have certainly not heard. Perhaps they are a new young crop of musicians. It tends to follow with the www.deflamenco.com report that read that Paco would assemble a brand new group. Anyway, maybe Chick will be playing with Paco elsewhere, although, I agree with Jotego that it makes most sense for Chick to play in North America with Paco, although that is not my preference. I guess we will have to wait until we step in to the concert halls to find out for sure. By the way, the article Jerzy mentions is an interesting one, especially for the members of the list I imagine.
