Back from the abyss

Hi flamencos,
I'm back from a self imposed exile-I missed reading about all the trials, tribulations and flamenco activity. I had made some rather harsh comments about a new guitarists' recording and felt that I was being unnessesarily cruel, and thats not what I want to do.
I haven't been playing much, just doing a rumba gig here and there for money and no flamenco. No dance classes, no flamenco gigs, and no practise! I'd say I'm being lazy, but I'm not. I've been working my day gig hard and surfing. I've also been messing around with some other instruments -bought a mandolin and a fiddle off e-bay. I'm eyeing a fretless bass-maybe if I buy enough junk, I'll feel motivated enough to play something. The whole gig thing has taken a strange turn-I'm playing hardly anything but making lots of money per gig, which is actually devastatng for my afficion and chops. What's the point of working out how to accompany the latest letra on the new paco record when I'm never gonna get to play for Duquende? Anyway, want to say I'm back for more and hope to find the familiar characters still hammering away.

Mark,
hey, man, going good. I have been working weddings a lot more lately, and I find that I actually enjoy it. The wedding planners like me and get me work. It's a lot more cash and the people are always in a good mood. I have bumped up my prices this year and so I'm making more money.

I am also putting the finishing touches on my CD and it should be ready to go within a month.

I am also going to relocate to Seattle, WA this summer, and the plan is to work there in the summer (their season) and work here in the fall/winter (our season). Hopefully that will bump up the $ and gigs as well!
