IDENTIFYING STRINGS

I found a set of strings in a box of used strings which sound really good on my new guitar. They are high tension and clear but the ends have dark blue coloration on the tips and on the silver windings near the ends. Does anyone have any idea what possible strings strings they could be. thx peter

The only strings I have seen that had blue-colored tips (or red, depending on the string tension I think) are Savarez.

It will probably be impossible to identify the strings just by colour. I think that Augustine and Savarez both use blue to denote high tension and between them they do a wide variety of strings made of different materials.

I use Savarez Corum- Alliance high tension on one of my guitars. The Alliance trebles have blue tips but the Corum bases do not. The trebles are fluoro carbon and noticeably thinner than comparable tension nylon strings. Savarez do a wide range of strings for classical/flamenco guitar and I seem to remember that some bases I have used in the past had blue on the windings.

I'm not an expert in all the strings out there but Hannabach classical high tension also match that description IIRC.
