Savarez Cantiga Strings

Hello...

Has anyone has tried the new Savarez Cantiga Strings? I really want to hear your reviews. I checked them at stringsbymail.com.

Thank you...

RE: Savarez Cantiga Strings (in reply to gounaro

I have tried them actually (a stringphiliac that I am).

The marketing goes something like "experience a new sensation in playing with amazing response and colour blah blah..." doesn't it.

I ordered a normal tension set with Alliance trebles, and they were indeed pretty good. Quite a bright sound with very good response and good separation when strummed hard (I'm only talking about the Cantiga Bass strings here).

Let me compare it to, eh, Savarez Corums. Very similar I thought, but Corums were a bit brighter and faster with a little more zip (also wears out a tad faster). In saying that I haven't used Corums for like two years so I might have forgotten their exact sound.

Do they suit flamenco? Definitely. Do I recommend? Sure. Am I converted to using them? No (I like my Hense).

I hope this helps

I use Carbon Medium tension (the trebles come only in medium-high in carbon).

The low tension was nice but wins the prize for wearing out the quickest - visible wear after one hour of playing, visible thinning after four. Maybe I press too hard.

I recently tried the Savarez Cantiga basses. I can't agree with "quite a bright sound." I found them dull and lifeless.

tried the "Cantiga Premium" cantiga(basses)/alliance(trebles) normal tension

great touch/feel , easy to play , sounds good , nice trebbles and basses , good projection and tone.
lets see if is going to last , the premium stands to last more time than the regular.

i would say that these strings are in the middle of the knob. Actives and the daddario ej45.
they are a little more balanced and conservative thant the Actives and Ej45.

So if you want something in the middle , this is the rigth option.
The normal tension feels normal ... in opposite of la bella normal tension that feels more like a normal low

This thread is 13 years old man!

Gounaro hasn't been active on the foro for 10 years.

Replying to him about these strings is just creepy dude!

I tried these a few weeks ago, I enjoy trying different strings. I really disliked them, feel and sound. I took them off after a few days. I've gone back to my usual D'Addario EJ46FF which I really like.

I got the Savarez hybrid set.

Sometimes I use EJ45FF. Occasionally EJ45.

Cantiga Premium

well you ve got a big difference , these are medium tension , daddario are high tension

for me these Premium are more like to the ej45 medium tension, but the basses have more metalic sound , the trebles are more balanced .

well , theres personal taste , and sound can be diferent with different guitars

EJ45FF are normal tension (but higher than nylon), so are EJ45.

I replaced the EJ45FF with the Cantiga. The I replaced the Cantiga with EJ46FF.

The trebles are completely different - nylon for EJ45 and fluorocarbon/PVDF for the Cantiga set.

The Cantiga premium basses - I had the same reaction that they sound more metallic than the regular Cantiga, so switched back to regular Caintiga basses.

the cantiga are loosing quality and the other guitar have one set almost new, im think on swap them , put the almost new on my main guitar , and the cantiga on the other that i play sometimes at lunch.

The tensions are pretty much the same
