Guitar/Neck Feel Question

I have two guitars: An Augustino LoPrinzi Classical with a raised neck and a less expensive LA Mancha guitar from Mexico. Both have 650mm and 52mm nut width. The action is relatively low on both, but they feel very different. Of course this is to be expected, but for some reason my LaMancha's strings under my fingers feel thin and thereby easier to play whereas my LoPrinzi feel fat and awkward and its much harder to be accurate. I have used the same exact sets of strings, Luthier and La Bella, on both at the same time with the same result. I have had this same experience to differing degrees with each guitar that I have played in Guitar Salon, etc... Has anyone else experienced this and how does one describe to a luthier what a fast neck is without just talking about the action? Thanks, Nick

Two important things:

Thickness of neck and fretwire.

How's the difference in those.

Would scale length matter?

RE: Guitar/Neck Feel Question (in reply to nickeyg

Anders, good points. My LoPrinzi is at work so I will check, but I'm pretty sure that my LaMancha has a thinner neck. So a thick neck can change the feel of the strings significantly? The strings feel fatter on the LoPrinzi even when I'm playing just open strings. As for the fret wire, it is something which I've never really paid any attention to, but now will try to be more aware. The order of importance of a guitar in my mind is 1) feel 2) sound 3) appearance. If the guitar sounds great and feels like crap, i.e. my LoPrinzi, then it really doesn't let you play to your potential and its easy to get frustrated because its so hard to be accurate. On the other hand if it feels great and sounds like crap then its still fun to play beacuse its easy to play well and therefore you can focus less on technique and more on emotion. Trying to quantify the neck feel is something which I think is really important, Nick
