power, expression, authenticity, purity, tonality, arte. I don't care so much if they are an imitator or very unique so long as they are expressing truth with their voice.

All Of The Above, to be sure. But also there is something to be said for singers working together with guitarists who have known one another and collaborated for a long time, as this allows each--especially the singer--to express him/herself without artificial reservation: think The Sisters and also Perrate with Diego del Gastor, and Caracol with Melchor. Having a wide repertory also is a plus, in my view, because I often want to hear something other than the Sturm und Drang of wrenching martinetes and siguiriyas. People like Rafael Romero and Niño de Almaden come to mind; even Manuel Vallejo. Often the listener's own mood is the strongest influence on what one wants to hear.

I must admit that I love letras with a lot of compas inside, letras sang with accelerations and decelerations for instance, Potito is a good example of that even though i'm not fond of his voice ..
