Hello

Hi folks im pretty new to guitar and have decided to make Flamenco my style of choice (I enjoy metal/rock style of music as well). The evolution of this style of music interests me a lot (love history) and also build stringed instruments. I live just outside of Washington D.C.

Domo arigato!

I played metal for some years before I started flamenco. Check out Ben Woods, he plays flamenco but also does a lot of nylon covers of metal songs, and if your into history check the Rito y Geographia series out, great stuff.

Enjoy!

Lenador...Domo!

you the wood man? your name sounds like the wood man spelled with Spanish letters, but sounding Italian! My mom is from Chile and my dad is from Italy so I happen to know both languages. I know Ben Woods very well, what he has done is exactly what I like and want to do as well, though i would have a new metal style more than old school metal. I think hes great.

Machopicasso - Im in Silver Spring and thanks!

Welcome to our 'exmetalheads anonymous' support group.

So many many times I have been awoken in the middle of the night by the phone ringing and a frantic foro member confessing that there is an old Judas Priest record out of it's sleeve newly shattered by their stereo. Then slowly, haltingly and with the hiss of a needle on an empty turntable swooshing in the background they will continue;

'I put it in the garage, you know...... you know ... just in case'

'Yes, yes I know, I know'

All joking aside welcome aboard

D.

And I agree Ben is great, but remember........ we cant all use metal responsibly.

It's ine day at a time D, one day at a time. After 3 years I've yet to complete my 12 steps, having trouble getting past apologizing to everyone I've hurt in the mosh pit.

Hey Arigato, yeah, I'm a construction worker and the guys at work call me Leñador cus I look like a lumberjack, either that or Vikingo lol.

You're probably aware of them. But, if not, there are a number of opportunities for seeing live flamenco in DC each week: http://dcflamenco.com/blog/shows/

Yeah, I'd especially recommend seeing one of Ricardo's shows.
