The Twanger PraxAx (!)

http://www.twanger.com/

Just wondered whether any of you guys had seen/tried one of these things?

I'm not a big fan of practice gizmos (IMO the best way to get better at playing the guitar is by playing guitar) but I think this may be helpful for my hand condition and it has the advantage that you can exercise whilst away from the guitar.

Anyone used one? Any of you UK guys know if you can buy them here?

I use the Guitar Mute that I bought in Granada. It is specifically designed for Flamenco with little golpeadors (ahhh).

I can recommend it highly for learning new ras techniques, warming up or strengthening the fingers. Personally, I would make a simple copy of this Twanger.

You can order the guitar Mute at http://www.flamenco-world.com/

Ah right, I was thinking specifically of something to exercise the fingers when a guitar is impractical though, like when I'm sitting stuck in traffic, or when I'm out walking the dog.

I already do little arpeggios and ras on my knee, but with my condition its fine control I'm lacking rather than bigger finger movements. Something with actual strings that I could put in my pocket (or attach to my belt) seems like a good idea.

Its a good idea to make a copy of this twanger Simon, except that I'm like one of those poor sods on the telly from those 'DIY disaster' programmes.

I use the Mute when stuck in traffic or watching tv, but you need two hands so no driving or walking the dog. You might want to add a lower golpeador to the twanger.
