Newbie Hombre Ingles

Hi All. When I was a boy, my parents had only 4 LP's one of which was flamenco so it has always been lurking in the back of my mind.
After playing guitar in pub bands for many years, I happened upon a spontaneous performance in a bar high up in the Axarquia mountains, with no tourists in sight, (well apart from me!)and am now dedicated to learning to play Flamenco.
Im desperately trying to train my right hand to keep up with my left and use more than one finger, and grow my nails.. Im sure you all know the scenario?! All help gratefully accepted

What are u doing up there, far from civilization? Make your way down to the coast, to Nerja for example, where there are lots of ingleses, and look out Jingle. He can put you on the right road.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Although I live near Stansted in Essex, I have a small casita in Cutar near Benamargossa, and get out there 2 or 3 times a year. I bought a Flamenco guitar from a great guy in London who also recommended I get in touch with Jingle.
Do you have any contact details for him? Where are you based?
cheers Vince

I live in Cádiz, but most of the family live in Nerja. I got to know Jingle in London when he tried to sell me a crap Jeronimo Peña. However, we remained friends.

Last year, I met him in Nerja, playing for a cantaor called Raúl, who works in the seafood restaurant Puerta del Mar on the Balcón de Europa.

Asking Raúl is probably the best way to find him.

I often favor to play pretty slow myself and on top have a similar bad taste in clothes, so i guess that makes tree of us :-). If ever you develop an interest in Seguiriyas you might like this link as well.
