Intro & Seeking Flamenco Guitar Teac...

Hola & greetings to all!

I have always had a passion for singing many different styles and in many different tongues since birth and have had little to do with any instruments. Now, out of curiosity and a deep feeling of connection with the Spanish guitar and gitano flamenco music in general, I'd like to explore this more with a very good teacher and would also like to know if there are any organizations or clubs in Oregon. Any info and resources is greatly appreciated!!

~Amy

Hola Amy!

Are looking for a guitar teacher or a singing(cante) teacher?
I can't help you with any local teachers but if you end up not finding any either Skype is a great tool for teaching. There's lots of guitar teachers on the forum that Skype like Ricardo, he's a monster. I know of a cante teacher that may be willing to teach via skype as well. Good luck finding someone locally though!

My mom and brother moved up to Portland, very pretty, but very rainy, my Mom bought some special light to deal with depression from lack of son lol she grew up here in LA.

I would recommend contacting Laura Onizuka in Portland. She's been in the area for a while and is well-connected to the flamenco community in Oregon. Buena suerte!
