flamenco movie on t.v. next week

i was at amazon today and decided to look for a movie i have been trying to find for quite a while--no luck at amazon and e-bay and other sites. anyway, i googled the movie and found it will be on television next week.

the movie: sombrero which is the story of ricardo montablan who is a bull fighter and leaves the ring to become a flamenco dancer--or at least that is how i understand the movie. the movie will be on the turner classic movie station on october 23 at 6 p.m. e.s.t. this is the movie that inspired gino d'auri to learn flamenco (per his liner notes).

unfortunately my search to buy the movie has proved futile and unfortunately i do not have cable. for those who do have cable, enjoy the movie.

I think your synopsis might be a little off. I did a little research and it appears there's no flamenco in this movie......there is a story about a gay couple though which seems insanely progressive for a movie from '53.....

my synopsis was gleamed from gino d'auri's liner notes a long time ago so it could be off. as i recall jose greco is in the movie so maybe there is some flamenco music and/or dancing. i do remember gino d'auri mentioning that movie inspired him to learn flamenco--i believe it was greco's dance scene that got him hooked. anyway, it has cyd charisse and yvonne de carlo in the movie which would make it worth the while.
