Hello there

Hey Folks!

I would like to take this oppertunity to introduce myself. I am 24 years old from the Netherlands. I play guitar for about 4 years now. I like playing anything really but Flamenco is special to me. Only it seems the guitar doesn't like me; Whenever I play, my arm rests on the body. But after a while, guaranteed, my right hand gets less accurate and a numbness sets in on my pinky through my forearm. First I thought it could be the body of the guitar blocking a nerve, but I have the same with electric guitars, which are flatter. It seems just holding my arm in that position causes problems. Does anyone else have experiences with this or heard of it. I did have quite a few minor self restoring dislocations in that shoulder. Perhaps I should consult a specialist? Thank you

Hey man, welcome to the Foro!

I've had some similar problems too. When it gets real bad I usually go to a chiropractor (a decent one, we need to be careful with some of this fellas). Actually I'm been having a lot of pain on my right hand since the beggining of the month, most of the time when doing picados. After my exams are done I'm going there again to get this "fixed".

I hope your pain and numbness dissapear. Greetings from Portugal.

Welcome to the foro... it must be the Netherlands since i have a similar problem with my leg when i hold the guitar like Paco de Lucia (not my standard position). Can't help you with your problem.
