Converting 6 hole bridge to 12

I am about to take my Ricardo Sanchis to my guitar tech to have six extra holes drilled, mainly due to the poor break angle I am getting (top E is almost horizontal over saddle).

Just wanted to check whether there was any reason I should not do this, or be cautious? Some threads on Delcamp mentioned changing the mass of the bridge, which could affect tone, but are 6 tiny holes really going to make that much difference?

...and if anyone is thinking of suggesting bridge bone beads as an alternative, please see other recent thread on the subject.

Nothing to worry about, if it is done by someone competent. Weight change won't be an issue, and with a break angle that bad I predict only an improvement in sound.

just make sure when drilling there will be some kind of a stopper for the drill when it comes out from the new hole

Thanks - is it possible to do this job without removing the bridge? I can't envisage how this would work without a very long drill bit.

Here is some examples of how it can be done.

I've done it twice with an extension, it's not a complicated procedure. The extra holes don't have to be as accurate as the regular string holes; not having the holes in a perfect horizontal alignment, may even reduce the chance of the tie block cracking.

its common to drill them slightly above to avoid cracking and facilitate the tie better
