koster tune

this is a dennis koster fandango its a great little run, problem is for the rest of the tune he never returns to this opening statement. i hve played with trying to carry the theme further but Im not to musically bright. Has anyone got anything similar or suggestions on how to carry this idea further? try it its a fun piece.

The last measure is cut off, at first glance I think there is a Sabicas fandango that begins very similarly.

Yes, it's Sabicas, and Koster gives him full credit. There's text annotation that goes along with that score which says "This falseta was often played by Sabicas in second position, but he taught it to the author in seventh position, where the melody sings out with greater intensity"

Which incidentally also illustrates rickm's other question about what "position" means ...

timoteo is correct perhaps I should have incldued that in the post. and yes that precludes my post on position as Koster calls the 7th fret the 7th position which really blew my mind
