Baile Appreciation Thread

watching good baile for me is as satisfying as hearing good cante. here a some examples which i think qualify. some amazing artistic stuff going on here.

Joaquin Grilo would probably be one of my favourite flamenco dancers, the man ooozes skill, fun and mastery of baile technique. only way i can describe it is watching living & breathing compas.

Thanks Henry this is much appreciated, in my quest to improve my baile accompaniment I think I've come to the realization that I need to watch(and listen to) a lot of baile, as simple as that sounds it was not so obvious to me for whatever reason. I figured if I just pay attention in the dance classes that'd be enough but every time we do a new dance I completely miss llamada's, salidas, etc...If anyone else has some recommended watching that'd be great.

lenador, i'm no great accompanist by any means but a friend who is a dancer gave me a loan of one or two of these dvd's to work with for a while ( also worked out a few falsetas from rito y geografia del baile). i just focused on 4/4 time palo, solea and siguiriyas. i found it to be helpful to work along with using a dvd screen.

my only gripe with the series is that, imho for continuity of learning they should have kept the 12 beat. siguiriya beat, 4 beat and misc styles separate. i think it kind of forces you to buy the whole series.
