Ray Mitchell's flamenco collection f...

Some of you may remember Ray, who used to write on Flamenco for Guitar International magazine.

His widow is selling his large collection, mainly on vinyl. Unfortunately, she hasn’t got a computer; but she may be contacted by ’phone.

For more details, e-mail Vera King (of the Peña Flamenca de Londres): vera@flamencomag.demon.co.uk.

Perhaps I’m bending the rules by posting this for a third party; but I should like to see Ray’s collection end up in the right hands.

RE: Ray Mitchell's flamenco collecti... (in reply to Paul Magnussen

I've inherited a great collection of flamenco on vinyl from my former teacher, Bill Carden, who just passed away. I'm looking to donate them to a program that will use them to expose up and coming players to the guitarists of the past including Niño Ricardo, Esteban de Sanlucar, Sabicas, and a host of other pre-PDL greats.

I promised Bill I would find them a home where they would be appreciated and where his memory might be honored. If anyone here has ideas on where I might be looking, please let me know. I have contacted UNM but not received a reply from them. I'm in California, but don't see any teaching programs here that would benefit.
