I have a question that has been on my mind a while: is there a name for the practice of rapping on the table?

I'm assuming palmas is limited to clapping but is this also referred to as palmas?

Is this a practice that is now dated? Has the cajon replaced this 'primitive' percussion?

Was there a period when it was most common?

Is it associated with particular palos?

Paco took from his "El Tempul" which is on Fantasia flamenca...you can BUY the transcription book. Here I am playing it and I play it slower at the end.
