RE: Vicente Sanchis 2F Negra new con... (in reply to pjn)

For whatever reasons, the Vicente Sanchis have not had a really strong record here on the Foro or in other places where I've seen them discussed or put up for sale. I had 2 V. Sanchis models---one a 41F with pegs, which I still use, and a 39F with tuners that I sold. Both were hand made, the 39F by Vicente Sanchis himself before he retired and turned the shop over to his "successors." The guitar I have, the 41F is great and was hand-picked at the shop in Spain by Paco de Malaga, who is also now retired. My conclusion, from what I've read and experienced, is that the quality and set up can vary a lot with the V. Sanchis guitars and I've read a lot of feedback on that from unhappy guitar buyers. Bottom line: If someone can play, inspect, and try the guitar and find it is what they are looking for, it's the best way to try to sell it. Otherwise, there are a lot of negative comments about V. Sanchis on the Internet and I think, rightly or wrongly, a preference for the guitars made by Ricardo Sanchis Caprio. Offering the guitar on a trial basis and providing all the specs, as well as a video showing the guitar, might help with an offer. You also need to keep in mind that the economy right now is just awful and trying to sell a guitar now is difficult. My personal opinion: while the V. Sanchis 2F retails for about $2500, I wouldn't expect to re-sell it used for much more than $1000, if that. That's my frank opinion, and only my opinion. I hope I didn't bum you out. Good luck.

Hello, thanks for the detailed reply, I appreciate it. Don't know about the other V. Sanchis models but this one I played while visiting my friend Ron Fernandez' place last April. This is the "Fernandez model" if you will, set up by him in CA. It is not a used instrument, being the one pictured on his site and having come directly from there to me, as I said. I'm sure sound and video would be nice to have, but, as you say, nothing replaces the hands on situation, which is why I mentioned that the guitar is in New York, so that anyone interested in a look-see could do so; I wouldn't think buying without playing, shipping around the planet and so on, would be worthwhile for a budget priced instrument. As for specs, they are given in my first posting -- and no trial period necessary if the buyer has already played it before buying.
