Had My first Public Performance Last...

I've been taking lessons and studying Flamenco with varying degress of commitment for about 5 years now. I still feel like I'm a beginner though even after all that time.

For the past 2.5 months I've been involved in a "Flamenco Ensemble" class through the local University. We meet each Saturday for 3 hours with a couple dancers and the instructor and have been working up a program for a recital that we performed last night.

There are 6 guitarists in the group. I knew going in we were underprepared and I was nervous about a total train-wreck of a performance. I'm glad to report, it didn't go quite that poorly. There were definitely some miscues and we could have been tighter, but I suppose that's the case with any performance.

It feels nice to have accomplished a goal though. I'm not sure how much performing I'll do in the future, hopefully I'll get some more opportunities, but it's nice to have had the experience in any case.

Good one NeZ

For me its very important to use my music with others. It gives me the inspiration to carry on.

It certainly was a good motivator to keep practicing and learning the parts.

My Anders Blanca performed wonderfully! It was nice to be able to share that with people as well.

It's all positive, from a playing point of view and life experience in general, congrats.

NeZ:
Congrats on your accomplishment, I am sure that you are not giveing yourself enough credit.

I also have been learnig flamenco for about 3 to 4 years, I am behind in the learning curve due to my musical handicaps but I am making progress, I hope to report one day that I have also done a public performance for know it will be my living room and my teachers studio.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

En hora buena!
