A scoring sytem test for challenges

since i have lack of volunteers to score and i dont have time to chase people I am trying to figure out if theres a way to use the poll option for scoring the bulerias challenge....the benefit is that even shy members that wouldn't normally get to score will have an oportunity to....so we would have a wide range of people voting....but like it or not it will be an honest uncompromising score as voted by everyone

- the first barrier that comes to mind is that it can only do 10 entries per poll but thats not such a big problem, if there is more than 10 entries we can always do 2 pages..Bulerias Score Poll 1 and Poll 2 etc..

- the second barrier is that since you only get one pick ...it will only tell you the score of the members in the top scoring positions...so this will get you a ladder of probably the top 3 or 4 entries...it wont say anything of the lower positions (they will all be equal, 1 vote each i assume)..can we live with that ?...like it or not... it is going to be uncompromising and honest ...no sugar coating, no encouraging scoring, you are either in the runing or not...you pick the one entry you think should win, noone knows anything until after they pick so you cannot be influenced

members that wish to provide feedback on the entries can do so underneath....i like this...sometimes when u scoring 20 entries and you have to write 20 feedbacks it becomes a whole "to do" thing...like a job, ...i prefer that its optional, makes it more honest and not forced

eg.

@Jim.....I liked your playing, but you could improve on etc

so what do you guys think ? could it work ?

you pick your favorite entry...and according to number of votes we will make the ladder...feedback underneath....simple
scoring stops at an appointed date

Or again the other option is plain and simple like the mini challenges, theres no soring just feedback and perhaps members tell their fav entry...but really it amounts to the same thing ...only here it is clearer on which entries got the most mentions...at the top of the page

I think the poll is a good idea. I would join in the voting, and add comments where I felt I had something constructive to say.

I think the idea's great.
I believe it'd make scoring less "elite" and more "democratic"
Plus, great time savings!

excellent, yes i like the simplicity too

its such a "job" being a judge...takes about 3 or 4 hours listening to everyone and writting feedback on everyone..
