R. Sanchis Carpio 1 Extra

Hello all,

I am considering purchasing a Ricardo Sanchis Carpio 1 Extra. Spruce top, Rosewood b/s.
I have been searching trying to find out if the 1 Extra is a Flamenco or a Classical. The seller is convinced it is a Flamence Negra but there isn't a golpeador. I have been trying to look up a Carpio 1 Extra online but all I can find are 1 F Extra or 1a Extra. This guitar simply says 1. Extra on the label. The label is signed.

Does anyone have any tips to help me know for sure if this is a flamenco or classical?
Thanks a lot for all your help!
Austin

no golpeador = not flamenco (probably)
If it were a Flamenco it would probably say 1F Extra

Unlikely they would ever sell a flamenco without a golpeador even more unlikely someone would buy it and go to the trouble of removing them.

The guitar is flamenco if you play flamenco on it and it sounds like flamenco.

How is a golpeador fixed to the guitar? Does it damage it?

If it's a 1 Extra, then it's a classical... but if you can, try it!
I tried a Cedar top/Caviuna back & sides Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 'Concierto' model here in Seville (it's their top 'classical model) and it sounded muy flamenco!!! It was everything a flamenco negra guitar should be (even had golpeadors!).

thank you everyone for your help.
It seems that this guitar is definitely a classical.

I did get a chance to play the guitar and it didn't have the sound I am looking for in a flamenco. Too bad. The price seemed reasonable. The seller wants $1800US.

Thanks again for everyones input!
