Forgive me Anders for I have sinned-...

Just wanted to let you guys know I'm doing some documentation of the next two guitars I'm building. Both have been started, but charting them in progress I have a negra of Maylaysian Blackwood and a blanca of Port Orford Cedar ( back and sides) with Western Red Cedar top. Both of these guitars are spoken for, but after these two I'll be building two more and I will make one of the guitars in the next batch available for whom ever want may one.

Next week I'll be putting up the final pictures of a seven string Indian rosewood classical I am at the end of French polishing right now. This is a real simple beauty. A shot of it being built:

Anyway hope you stop by once in while to check them out.

Also apologies for trolling with your name Anders, rest assured I'll never build a guitar and call it the Faulk - Anders model. Although it would have double Nordic power.

Did I mention Anders has a blog with his work too??????

No problems with using my name. Bad publicity is better than no publicity.

Estebanana, I followed the link of your first post and it led me here, and this is the text that is at the of the page.

Stephen Faulk is a guitar maker and repairer of string instruments. Examples of my work, observations on instrument restoration, and odd philosophical rantings. Located in Oakland...

It is difficult to make sense of what is written here. Are you Stephen Faulk? Because you start by talking about him at the 3rd person and then you talk about yourself in the first person so it's not obvious who is talking this is someone talking about Stephen.
And the 2nd sentence seems incomplete. Examples of my work.... and odd philo.....
So what about them? Are you trying to say that this blog is about this?

I don't say this negatively, I just want to let you know, if this is your site, the intro is not very clear.

Yeah, i love being pedantic too.
But as a serious question: is it "string" instruments or "stringed" instruments? Latter one gets more hits at Google...

HA ha I get some of my own medicine.

Check it now, I fixed some things. Just clink on the signature link. Thanks for the advice, I just set that up and never paid any more attention to it. I really should have included my name in the blog url.....but I had this other dumb idea.....So of it was I was tentative about starting a blog in the first place. It made me nervous to stick a sign out in public, but now I'm fine with it.

That's better. But is it blackwood (ebony) or rosewood?
Either way, it's Malaysian, not 'Maylasian' (whether or not there's a mêlée in the workshop).

Sheesh......taking beating.....

It is technically in the ebonies, but if you say it's an ebony people start asking if it's too heavy for guitars and other questions that are tedious. Wood vendors throw it in with the rosewoods, with all the other non rosewood species that are also dark, so I just do the same thing. But if anyone wants to know the Linnean names I can dish that up, but I find that it's not necessary until asked.

I find the conversations about what it is called not as much fun as thinking about what the wood can do in an instrument.
