Freeform to regular palo?

Can you switch from a toque libre to a regular palo such as solea? For my performance at my school that I am working on I have a malaguena intro then I transition in a Solea. I am allowed to make this transition, or is it against some sort of rule or something?

Manitas de Plata does this all the time..
Usually ends up with a Rumba at the end...

The people listening to you won't know the rules

Maybe you aren't even playing two forms within the same piece, maybe you just change the piece you're playing without interruption? Don't worry so much

Dude, happens all the time. Free forms pick up compás, compás pieces have free intros, whatever. It's very frequent. With malagueña in particular you'll move into verdiales (in compás) quite often. I've never heard of a malagueña to soleá transition, but that sounds really interesting. The tricky bit there would be managing keys (would you play soleá in the key of malagueña? That would be awesome), not moving from toque libre to compás.
