Door to Door Sales

Some 'self-employed' guy came to the front door today, trying to sell me a "No Cold Callers" sticker from our local trading standards office, but he couldn't see the irony of the situation.

"See, the logo is official and with this in your window, they will be committing an offence by trying to sell you something."
"I doubt that a) the logo is relevant in law and that b) they would be committing an offence."
"I see that I may have lost the sale but I don't want to lose the argument"
"You lost the argument when you rang my bell. Now you are just making things worse, good day to you"

RE: Door to Door Sales (in reply to Escribano

The telephone awakened me from a late afternoon nap. I had gone to bed for a snooze after work, getting ready for a little night life.

The woman's voice on the phone said, "I am calling from the 'Eternal Light' Light Bulb Company."

I said, "Lady, do you really think we will need light bulbs in heaven?" In the ensuing pause I hung up and resumed my nap.
