open question to pimientito & ricardo

gerardo's solea escobilla por baile which he teaches in the sanlucar curso nearly every year has been bugging me for ages, i have been trying to work out some of the chord changes but because some are so fast and literally a passing chord i've found it hard to figure alot of it out.

so here is a vid of what i've figured out so far. any help or direction would be appreciated.

Not sure if that was what you needed, it has been a long time.

Ricardo, thanks for the reply, i think im jsut gonna have to spend alot more time listening to the audio. the apagado and thumb timing is crazy to get right. almost on par with the crazy quick chord changes of george benson

Hey Henry. You got the chords right but its just that Gerardo changes them really fast. It took me ages to get anything near his speed just because its such an awkward change. As I remember the change at the back is

-1- -0- -0-
-1- -0- -5-
-2- -2- -4-
-0- -3- -3-
-x- -2- -2-
-x- -x- -0-

The trick is getting the change fast in the first 2 chords. Gerardo plays a down stroke with i on the first chord. Immediatley dampen the strings with the edge of the right hand and your thumb should already be on the 5th string ready to play a downstroke on the second chord......so that action is flick first finger, then dampen then downstroke with the thumb. You need to practise that technique and then it starts getting easier. Saying all that I still cant get it nearly as fast or powerful as gerardo so aim for 3/4 speed and still sounds good.
