Viva! Foro

It's a great thing. I find it hard to lift material from paper, next to impossible for me. So, three good things on Foro this Christmas. 1/ Been talking to Anders about his guitars and he sent me an audio of him playing buleria on one of his guitars. Sounded great and I noticed a neat chord change where A normally goes to B# on beat 3, however, Anders chord was 013020 hammering on to 3. Nice! 2/ Saw Todds video por Solea and liked his falseta, so I set about learning it. Realized later that his longer video, broke it down in stages, but no fuss, it was good to work parts out. 3/ Henrik posted a nice Buleria video and sound clip with some neat licks, nice to try and good fun to see and hear. Cheers Jim.

Hi Jim You're right. Its a great foro. Lots of variety, and a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere. Not just the "I love condes versus I hate condes" and the "Nuñez is not flamenco versus Nuñez es muy flamenco" discussions. I read most things, but do not write so much. I do not have the time to follow up. The point 1 in your posting is muy PDL, from his time with Camaron. I think I play one of the "Camaron" falsetas as well on the sound clip. Cant remember. Well, it's goddam cold in Andalucia. We had a white christmas (5cm) and frost every morning. So I take care with the gluing, and sit down in my kitchen near the woodburner, playing siguiriyas. So happy new year. Anders

To late Simon. I just gave one away to a poor and cold soul. I prefer the cheapest barrel type burners, where you feed from the top. They cost some 55 euros + tubes, and they work very well with olive, which is what you're going to use. I bought mine up at the top in Albaycin, at the small hardware store. You dont need a northern style burner, just something simple that works. Beside my dog, its my best friend these days. When are you comming down. Anders
