Looking for a decent beginners guitar

I have convinced a friend that we both cam learn to play the Flamenco guitar (Misery loves company) :). Does anyone have a Yamaha CG171SF, or a comparable guitar, sitting around that they would like to sell. We are located in the US.

Thanks

Steve

Try also visiting the forums on delcamp.net. There was a CG171SF in excellent condition with a hardshell case that was being offered for $230 not too long ago. (That's what a forum member told me when he made an offer.)

eBay my friend... a full loads of them. perhaps different and better guitars of comparable prices.

There has not been much on ebay lately in the beginners guitar category, or i have not been looking in the right places. He is looking for the Yamaha CG171SF because is a known quantity. I own one and know it to be a good guitar for the money. Their might be suitable guitars that become available on ebay but it seems like a big gamble to buy it without playing it or a least knowing the person you are buying it from. I would rather buy a guitar from someone off this forum then some stranger on ebay. I can reasonably assume that if it was your guitar you kept it in decent shape.

Thanks GuitarVlog I will check it out

Not Yamaha, but this flamenca blanca is being sold by Guitar Salon International. It is a Chinese-made protoype that they procured at NAMM and it is all-solid:

Just submit a bid. You might get it.

EDIT:
If you have questions, then just ask the seller. Dave Tate of GSI usually responds to the eBay inquiries. You can even call him by phone if you'd prefer to discuss the guitar with him and get his sense of how good it is.

Here's another auction, the Cordoba 32EF. Blanca. Laminated back and sides. Made in Spain.
