The set, continued...

So this morning, I got up and went outside and they had already set up the catering tables, and an RV was parked in our driveway (which is thankfully large). Now they have set up several tables, a lot of chairs, and a tent. Across the street, past the cop and a few trucks full of equipment, the neighbor's house has been taken over by guys in shorts, with radios on their belts and sunburns. Just glancing in, I can see the floor in front has been covered with cardboard.

I found Alan, the fella who bought my driveway for $100 bucks, with a CD thrown in as Ron said. He was excited to see me! "Hey, Miguel, I loved your CD. You have a lot of talent, and I'm serious, that was great! Do you do corporate events and private parties? Do you have a couple more CDs that I can give to the producer? Plus you have a cool house, if you want I can take some interior shots, you never know what kind of architecture we'll need!"

So I brought over a couple CDs a few hours later. He wanted to introduce me to the producer, and it turns out one of them is a friend of my friend, Gaetano. We chatted awhile and someone else wanted a CD! So I brought that to her and she told me she would get me a lot of gigs. And Alan said he would hook me up with an advertising lady and Gofilms, because they always need musicians and that kind of thing.

Grain of salt, of course... as I walked back to the house the lady in charge of catering wanted a signed Cd, too! It's a good thing my demo isn't as good as Jon's or Todd's, or the whole damn crew would be asking for one!

Wow! Sounds like you could have as much work as you can
take on. That's awesome!
Giging really helps your playing alot too. When you're playing
out 5 nights a week, you definatly gain stamina, and consistancy.
You also learn how to play with less effort.
Make sure you get paid what you deserve! You can demand
great money for corporate stuff, and rightly so.

Great to hear you're kickin some arss.
I'd love to hear you demo at some point.

What can I say Mike?
Talent...
Good Looks...
Fame and Fortune....
Riches beyond your wildest dreams...
Party guest of Madonna and Elton John...
Who knows Mike?
But you certainly have a talent for getting on!
(Hey don't forget me when you make it!!)

On another story that's in my head at the moment...
Yesterday this guy with a really posh accent phoned me about an Electronics problem he was having.
I slowly deduced that this was a minor thing, and was something he could fix himself if he got the part.
He asked me if I could get this for him and I said yes, but I was a bit reluctant to order parts for folk I don't know without payment first, since I have got to pay for it in advance and if the person doesn't pick it up, then I'm left with it.
However, I said he sounded quite a decent guy, so I would get it for him provided I had his word that he wouldn't change his mind and leave me with it or do the dirty on me.
He assured me that he wouldn't do so and in fact insisted that he send me a cheque there and then.
I got the cheque this morning....
It was from The Marquis of Huntly and the cheque wasn't your usual Barclays, Midland etc, but an old City Merchant Bank established in 1605.
His address was Aboyne Castle.
He's coming round next week to pick it up.
I've never met a Marquis before, so should be fun!

LOL!

Ron, you need to watch out for that Castle Trash. They will use you like a rented horse! Seems like 'tis the season for brushes with fame, eh?

My wife, her paralegal and I just had lunch with the crew... on our driveway. We have a large circular driveway with several palm trees, and they had four tables set up, with about 50 people there. The spread they had was pretty impressive, all real food and cooked there on the premises. I had thought it would be junk food but it was very good! They said it was one of the perks of the business, since they all worked 12 hour days. Apparently the Union guys get a couple thousand a day.

I gave out 5 demo CDs today! Hopefully I'll get some gigs... December is going a bit slow.

Jeez Mike,
I think you're right!
Was just doing a search on the net.
Even my humble abode is in better nick than that place!!

Mind you, this place looks a little bit better...

Also do you think it would be etiquette to learn this and play him in?

Problem is....I don't read music!

Maybe I should just play some Fandangos and charge him extra?.

HaHa!

Yes, you should casually pull out your guitar and play him a few strathspeys, reels, or jigs.
