Anybody know what that means?

Trapo, AFAIK is rag. e.g. muñeca de trapo is a rag doll (actually a pet name I had for a tiny Nicaraguan girl I used to date).

Bordón? Usually, I think it means a bass string (bordones=basses, tiples=trebles). But maybe 'cause I got guitars on the brain.


But bordón can also mean:


  • a broken verse that's repeated at the end of a couplet
  • three verses that build on top of each other
  • an oft-repeated phrase

...and 'bordon' means the fretboard of a guitar. But 'bordon de trapo' is a new one on me.

I figured it must be some kind of figure of speech ...
You wouldn't translate ragtime as "time spent with an old piece of cloth" would you
