Ideas

Does anyone have any ideas about how we could attract more guitarists from spain to the foro? I was wondering how difficult it would be to design some sort of translator for this web site? That could resolve the communication barrier. I have limited knowledge when it comes to that sort of thing. Any Ideas?

I'm sure there are a bunch of great guitarists singers and dancers that would enjoy sharing their ideas.

I have been thinking the same. It's not too hard to incorporate the Google translator into the site but I am concerned that it will lead to all sorts of confusion. I could develop a seperate Spanish sections - moderating would be possible. We have some good Spanish speakers here and my wife is a native speaker.

Yes, Unfortunately all the translators i have tried have been a bit dodgy. Is there anything available that would convert the text only, on each page reasonably accurately? Kind of like flamenco world where you can choose spanish or english.

Flamencoworld.com has a lot of text also. Is that some kind of software doing that or is everything translated by someone?

flamenco-world most probably is translated by someone as not all spanish text is available in english and usually the english version of articles appear (sometimes hours) after the original spanish ones...

To say the least! I don't think that Ive ever come across a "translator" that can properly translate a sentence, let alone a whole paragraph. Throw in some slang and forget it!

I think that the only option would be to have a separate section just for Spanish speakers and anybody that is bilingual could serve as a translator for hot topics or recommendations. I, for one, would be happy to help.

sounds like a cool idea. Even if all the spanish speakers talked amongst themselves, it would be great to watch there videos and stuff. A few singers would be good for the accompaniment practice thread. When i was in spain, i met plenty of singers who were trying to learn but had no guitarist. They would love it here.
