Thumb speed gauge? 
Hey guys, quick question. I've heard that a good gauge for picado speed is 16th notes @ 100-120 bpm.. (4 notes per click).

What is a good gauge for the thumb? 16th notes? At a particular speed?
I'm not counting in alzapua in which the down down notion can make more notes/beat. I'm thinking about just the down movements of the thumb.

how coincidental, i was wondering about this a couple of weeks ago.
i can't seem to go past 100bpm with chromatic scales with the thumb. so that's my speed right now.

but i'm starting to think it doesn't matter so much. for me, the problem is switching strings cleanly and in time.
