Paco de Lucia tape

I was watching a Paco de Lucia VHS tape that a German friend gave me.
It was taped off the German TV Station "Arte".
It shows various parts of his life, with little excerpts from concerts and scenes from him living in Mexico and scuba diving and shopping for fish and sitting in front of his computer recording some rough notes for stuff, as well as sitting around in his pyjamas (a la duende..LOL!) and playing some stuff for his baby girl.
Is this the "Francisco Sanchez" DVD that you guy's are talking about?
The copyright was RTE and Arte.

The program was of a "Guitar Evening" and after an hour and a half of Paco went on to do an hour long programme of the making and playing of the Arabic Ud, including some of the Arabic Masters.

Really good stuff!

A nice change from "Big Brother" and "What Not To Wear" and "How Clean is Your House", which my wife and daughter watch with great enthusiasm LOL!

My friend, Hans gave me another tape, a couple of years ago, again from "Arte" of Paco playing a live concert in Germany. Nice stuff.

Seems Continental Europe is a lot more open to Flamenco than the UK.
In the 60's/70's here you could see the occasional spot on TV.
In the last 10 years, at least, there has been nothing much on UK TV at all.

BTW, did you guys know that Tony Blair went to Paco Peña's school in Cordoba once when he was on holiday?

They brought it up on Paco's "Desert Island Discs" show and he (Paco) said....
"Well....I think he's got to practise more".

cheers

Ron

Hi Ron. Yep this sounds like the "Francisco Sanchez DVD". Pretty interesting to see this side of him.
