i'm going to the noche flamenca one, the one with soledad barrio.

i'm also going to be sitting in and playing guitar with juanito pascual for the workshop she's going to hold.

if i can get the extra cash, i'd love to go to the gala flamenca show as well. that one looks really cool.

it says on that page that marina heredia will be performing but i dont think she's coming to boston.

Rocio Molina was the big hit of the Jerez Festival some years back. I saw her the following year in a big ensemble piece and while I loved her dancing I didnt like the show. It was all about time and clocks and was a concept too far for me. It had a narrator

Nice that you got to see her dance close up at the workshop though. Were you playing for her ?

Shame Marina Heredía is not singing in Boston, you would have loved her, she has a great voice and stage presence. I've watched her performing since she was young, when her and Estrella would hang and sing all night at the Eshavira. They dont do that any more

It is a bit confusing to see a festival that covers a whole country. Normally when you have a festival it is in ONE town or area. It means you can go to see different concerts in one place. And nobody is going to fly from Miami to Vancouver right? These are just individual concerts only connected through the same organization, but not a festival imo.

the show was very modern but still very flamenco. there was this one section where they had some sort of rhythmic narration and two guys danced. i didn't care for that part. but the rest was just absolutely amazing. i feel bad for miss molina because she was the first to go on and you can tell the singers and musicians weren't warmed up yet so she didn't get the best support.

she had a section where she danced inside a small box and instead of just using only the floor for percussive effect, she used the four walls as well by kicking them.

the workshop i played at was with soledad barrio. i missed the show she was in. it's really funny to see these dancers in real life because they're just like normal people, maybe even a bit shy.

@deniz, i was confused about why they decided to call it a festival as well.
