loop pedal as practice tool

i own a digitech JamMan loop pedal, basically a fancy version of the old loop station. basically what it does is allows me to record audio live, and have it loop, then i can record layers over it. its a byproduct of my rocker days i have found this to be a very handy tool for practice, and i though i would explain a couple of ways i use it, and then ask if anyone else has any ideas how it could be put to use. with the digitech version, you can slow audio down a bit without it changing key, so it is handy if you have a video or audio lesson that is a little too fast for you to get down, you can slow it down a bit another simple idea is you can lay down a accomp track, and then practice the second guitar parts. its also handy if you just put phrases from songs you are learning into it one at a time, and let them loop so you can practice it lately i have been learning about palmas, and i have found that i can put the parts down for the first palmeo, and then do the second one on top, this has helped me to practice the off beats accurately, if you feel like it you can make it sound like a room of people i have also found it useful when i take it to guitar lessons, as i can put a mic in front of my teacher and take the lesson home with me. handy little device for the beginners out there
