Granados Book 4

Hi, All,

I seem to remember reading a thread about three weeks ago, started by a guitarist working off Manuel Granados' "Manual Didáctico de la Guitarra Flamenca Volume 4: Accompaniment to the Cante." The poster was doing the Alegrias accompaniment lesson in that book and was having problems because the book's recording apparently didn't keep good time, it speeded up as the song progressed.

The thread included uploaded mp3s of the recorded track with and without the poster's accompaniment. It also got many replies, including from the most knowledgeable and experienced members of the forum.

I've been doing search for half an hour now using all the keywords I could think of and can't turn up the thread.

The reason I'm looking is because I've been checking out this Granados volume online, and it doesn't seem to include alegrias. The listed contents are "Cante accompaniment in the forms of Solea, Seguiriyas, Malaguena, Fandangos, Granainas, and Tientos."

So, did I dream up this thread? (It would be the most elaborate and detailed dream I've ever had). And if not, are there two different editions of Granados vol. 4?

I'm beginning to feel like the guy who checks into a hotel with his wife and when she goes missing, the hotel staff and the cops and customs officials insist that he arrived and checked in alone. Guys, I need reassurance. Help!

Hi, thanks, Michel, Kozz, I found the thread:

www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=52124

It's a Solea and NOT an Alegrias. I'd been searching/viewing all kinds of accompaniment tutorials all that week and got confused. My bad, sorry. But thanks again, I appreciate it.
