Luthier Strings, n. 20 n. 30 and n. 35

Has anyone experimented with the different tensions available in Luthier’s strings.

Following the advice many endorse here, I started stringing my Conde with the Popular Supreme n. 20. I am very pleased with them. However, at times I feel that I could use a trifle more tension.

Here are the descriptions offered on the sringsbymail’s website, and I could not agree more with the manner n. 20 is described:

Popular Supreme n. 20: The trebles have quick response, excellent intonation with a nice sweet sound. The basses are flexible and very responsive, they settle into pitch quickly, and have a long life. A popular choice among flamenco players and classical players who favor a lighter string for easier fretting and great rasgueados .

Would the same characteristics of n. 20 (sweet trebles, flexible basses, excellent intonation) carry into the next layer of Tension?

The Concert Silver 30s enjoy the same general characteristics as the Popular Supreme 20s but have a higher tension which allows for greater force and a greater range of dynamics. Very bright with great tonal qualities. A popular choice among classical players.

The Concert Dark Silver 35s are the brightest strings in the Luthier line. Made with a slightly harder alloy in the basses. Great tonal qualities and good sustain. A popular choice among classical players.

Well till the beginning of this yaer I used soft tension strings.. I used in past LUT_SET-20 a lot. The trebles are very bright and the basses work for a long time. And they are cheap. The best for poor guitarists is, you can buy the basses seperately. You dont need to change the trebles always together with the basses because it takes some time till the trebles become good... So I prefer changing them not to much. Perfect,.. I payed almost half of the price by only buying the basses.

Now I play addario hardest tension because I have more control with hard strings and the sound is sharper. But I didnt try luthier hard tension till now. But as I remmeber I also liked the lutier sound more than addarios with the same tension. Luthiers are a good choose..

Thank you, Doits, the section I quoted from your post, deals excactly with the doubt I have, that harder or higher tension may afford "more control".
