Feliz Navidad, amigos !!!

Feliz Navidad, amigos !!!

Merry Christmas dear friends and acquaintances who share our passion for Flamenco (be it dance, cante or even just the guitar… ) enjoy the 12 days of Christmas (start counting them on one, not on twelve, really ) hopefully with plenty of time to practice new falsetas or even composing a few for the imminent Composition Challenge.

My prayers for those who maybe experiencing any grief, for losing gigs or jobs, girlfriends or dear ones or (as petty as it may sound to some) for not having in their hands the guitar of their dreams.… may your new year beat the odds that even the most cunning horoscope could promise, in health, happiness and success.

A big hug from gj

Merry Christmas from Harold and myself in Granada. Have a wonderful fiesta foro friends whatever your beliefs or persuasions !

We are having traditional roast veggy feast tomorrow ( minus the turkey or boar's head for that matter) but here in Spain they tend to have Christmas dinner tonight, usually a seafood spread. Nowadays in Spain kids get presents on christmas day as well but it used to be that they only got their pressies on the day the Kings arrived. ie twelth night. Now they have the best of both worlds.

Would be lovely to hear what our foro members are doing in their various parts of the world and how they celebrate. Is it true the Dutch think Santa comes on a boat from Madrid ? I heard that somewhere.

Yeah, Happy Christmas from me too!! I haven't been contributing so much to the Foro recently, but hopefully will have more time in the NY.

My kids always go to their father's family for Xmas. I miss them but they get a really fun big family Christmas there. So Dave and I usually do something just for us. We used to go somewhere warmer - Tunisia, Senegal - but for the last few years our routine is to go for a walk, end up at a country pub, then stagger back and have fish and chips! (Dave doesn't eat meat.) Not very traditional for UK, but nice and peaceful. No hours slaving over a hot oven. No family tensions to deal with.

Feliz Navidad!

I am in Washington, DC now and will celebrate the holidays with my family with a mix of traditional and Korean food. That means ham, cauliflower casserole, beets, scalloped potatoes, rice, kimchee, japanese pickles, seaweed, broiled Korean short rib, etc.

Also to add to the festive spirit, I happened to luck across this snowball fight last Saturday in New York. This to me is the holiday spirit!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I hope everyone gets lots of playing time in, new strings and tons to drink!
